The sooner graffiti is removed, the less likely it is to reoccur. Evidence shows that graffiti attracts more graffiti.
If you see graffiti in the City of South Perth, please report it as soon as possible. The City can remove it within three working days, depending on weather conditions, at no charge if it's visible from the street or an open public space. Graffiti is usually removed by painting over or using high-pressure cleaning.
To report graffiti, you can use the City’s online reporting platform, Report It.
Graffiti removal requests should include:
- Location or address of the graffiti
- Whether it’s on residential, commercial or City property
- Whether it’s on a painted wall, bare brick, stone or concrete
- A waiver giving permission for the City to enter the property for the purpose of graffiti removal.
Reports of graffiti on property such as bus shelters, power poles or traffic signs will be referred to appropriate agencies. The City does not remove graffiti from cars, trucks, boats etc, or graffiti that is not visible from the street.
Graffiti Management Program
Developed in 2007, the City’s Graffiti Management Plan offers a framework to report, remove and reduce graffiti in the area.
