COVID-19 update

GBLC has reopened with modified opening hours:

Monday-Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

Closed evenings and weekends.

  • Meeting rooms will be available for hire.
  • Two badminton courts will be available to hire with a court space in between. 
  • As contact sports. soccer, basketball and volleyball remains suspended under State Government Directions 
  • Face to Face junior programs are also suspended. 

George Burnett Leisure Centre is the City of South Perth’s multi-purpose leisure facility. Located at George Burnett Park in Karawara, it offers a sports hall with basketball, badminton, soccer and volleyball courts, two seminar rooms and meeting rooms. The centre also runs a range of activities for the community. 

Behind the facility is a reserve with a playground, barbecues, an ‘edible garden’ and an outdoor skate park.

Junior programs

The GBLC junior programs are for those children interested in sport who want to learn some skills in a social, fun and safe environment. The eight week programs are taught by experienced coaches and provide a great way for children to develop and master the fundamentals of selected games. Children will be taught skills and playing as a team.

Multi Sports

Multi Sports is an after school sports program that caters for children aged between 2-12 years and gives participants of all levels a chance to try their hand at a range of different sports


The Junior Soccer Program is for children aged between 4-12 years. Children will learn ball skills, technique, footwork and field awareness.


The Junior Basketball Program is a great way for children aged 4-12 years to develop and master the fundamentals of the game. Taught by experienced coaches.


The Junior Netball Program is an after school sports program running throughout term catering for children aged between 4-12 years.
Learning from expert coaches, each week will build another skill until we put it all together and play a game.

Kids Art 'n' Craft

A mixed media art class for children aged 7-12 years. During the term our art students will get the opportunity to use different art mediums and further develop their drawing skills. All materials supplied.
