Art Collection
The City of South Perth's Art Collection showcases a diverse array of paintings, sculptures, and historical artworks. While many pieces are displayed for public viewing throughout Civic buildings, others are rotated and preserved for occasional exhibitions.
Collections
- May and Herbert Gibbs Collection: Features artworks by renowned artists May Gibbs and her father, Herbert Gibbs. The Gibbs family were long-time residents of South Perth, and many of their works were created locally. This collection is curated and and exhibited at Heritage House by the South Perth Historical Society. Please see the South Perth Historical Society website for exhibition program details.
- Contemporary Art Collection: Features modern artworks reflecting current artistic trends.
- Historical Collection: Comprises artworks depicting the City's history and heritage.
- Public Art Collection: Includes sculptures and murals displayed throughout the City, contributing to the community's cultural identity.
- Mayoral Portraits Collection: Displays portraits of past mayors, celebrating the City's leadership.
