Subdivision & Amalgamation
The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is responsible for approving all subdivision, amalgamation and most strata title applications in Western Australia. The WAPC has introduced a standard planning process for strata, freehold and survey strata subdivisions.
In the case of a proposed subdivision, the City's Town Planning Scheme, incorporating the Residential Design Codes (R-Codes) of Western Australia, determines how many lots may be created.
After your subdivision has been conditionally approved by the WAPC, you will need to submit a subdivision clearance request and pay the required fee to the City of South Perth. The City will inspect the property and ensure that the conditions set out by the WAPC have been met.
