Roads and Footpath Works
Road works are coordinated so as to minimise disruptions to residents, motorists and pedestrians. For example, road works located near residential areas are carried out mostly in the day, and road works near schools and busy roads are scheduled for non-peak hours.
Work on the City’s roads, footpaths and verges can be carried out by a number of different service providers. In general, the City manages the local roads within the local government area and the main, State controlled roads are managed by Main Roads WA.
Roads are condition-rated against a range of criteria to determine the need for, and timing of, preventative or remedial action to prevent loss of service. The ratings address factors such as structure, surface cracking, ride-ability, age and predicted increases in traffic volumes and vehicle classifications.

Footpath construction - Greenock Ave, Como
Commencing 14 April, the City will construct a new 1.8m wide concrete footpath at Greenock Avenue between Coode Street and Robert Street, Como.
Cale Street footbridge closure
The Cale Street footbridge will be closed between 8 April and 20 April as part of the Main Roads WA Smart Freeways project.
Road works on Thelma Street, Como
Road works are scheduled on the night of Tuesday 14 April 2020 between 7pm and 6am. The work is estimated to take one night.
Roadworks - Manning Bowling Club
The City of South Perth will be undertaking road rehabilitation works at Manning Bowling Club carpark from 27 March 2020.
Kwinana Freeway overnight closures - 10 to 14 March
Main Roads WA has advised the Mill Point Road on ramp to the Kwinana Freeway will be closed Tuesday 10 March to Thursday 13 March between 9pm and 5am.
