Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the works being done at night?

The works are required to be undertaken out of hours due to the high traffic volumes on Angelo Street during the day. Conducting the works at night will prevent severe congestion of the surrounding road network and helps keep roadworkers safe. A site-specific Noise Management Plan has been developed for the project in order to minimise the inconvenience caused by the works.

Will I be able to access my property during the road works?

Access to your property during the works may be limited at certain times, particularly whilst asphalt is being laid. The contractor will notify affected residents by letter 48 hours before the asphalt works take place and traffic management will be in place to assist access in and around the work area. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can impact the new road surface, cause delays to the works, damage vehicles and crossovers and is also a safety risk.

How will the traffic be managed during the road works?

Temporary lane closures and detours will be in place during the road works. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, please speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work area. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area.
