Roads and Footpath Works
Road works are coordinated so as to minimise disruptions to residents, motorists and pedestrians. For example, road works located near residential areas are carried out mostly in the day, and road works near schools and busy roads are scheduled for non-peak hours.
Work on the City’s roads, footpaths and verges can be carried out by a number of different service providers. In general, the City manages the local roads within the local government area and the main, State controlled roads are managed by Main Roads WA.
Roads are condition-rated against a range of criteria to determine the need for, and timing of, preventative or remedial action to prevent loss of service. The ratings address factors such as structure, surface cracking, ride-ability, age and predicted increases in traffic volumes and vehicle classifications.

Road Rehabilitation Works – Cliffe Street, Kensington
The City will be undertaking road rehabilitation work at Cliffe Street between Vista Street and the end of Cul-de-sac south of Canning Highway, South Perth commencing 11 May 2021 for approximately 3 weeks.
Weekly approved works 26 April - 2 May 2021
Approved works within the City of South Perth for 27 April - 2 May 2021.
Canning Highway on-ramp closure
Main Roads WA have advised Kwinana Freeway's northbound on-ramp from Canning Highway will be closed from 8pm to 5am on Tuesday 27 April and Wednesday 28 April 2021.
Road Rehabilitation Works - Unwin Crescent, Manning
The City will be undertaking road rehabilitation work at Unwin Crescent between Welwyn Avenue and Sulman Avenue, Manning commencing 3 May 2021 for approximately 2-3 weeks.
Update to Road Rehabilitation Works - South Terrace
The City have updated the proposed construction program of the South Terrace works between Strickland Street and Labouchere Road intersection to minimise the night works.
