Road rehabilitation works
Every year the City identifies roads within our community that are in need of rehabilitation, including repairs to the road surface and surrounding infrastructure, in order to prevent any further deterioration and avoid costly repairs in the future.
The road works can include:
- Road resurfacing (with asphalt)
- Kerb replacement
- Drainage structure upgrades
- Minor footpath upgrades.

Annual Weed Control Program to begin across the City
The City will begin its annual Weed Control Treatment Program on Monday 24 August 2026 to help keep local roads, kerbs and footpaths safe, accessible and well maintained.
Kerb and drainage works - Angelo Street, South Perth
On Tuesday 4 August 2026, the City will carry out kerb and drainage repairs along Angelo Street, between Strickland and Waverley Streets, to improve the performance and serviceability of the existing infrastructure.
Drainage works - Labouchere Road, South Perth
On Tuesday 18 August 2026, the City will carry out drainage repairs along Labouchere Road, between Angelo and Mends Streets, to improve the performance and serviceability of the existing drainage network.
Road works - Melinga Court, Karawara
On Monday 10 August, the City will begin road rehabilitation works on Melinga Court to restore the road surface and associated infrastructure.

Road rehabilitation works will soon begin on Mirreen Court to restore the road surface and associated infrastructure, helping extend its lifespan and ensure it remains safe and functional for the community.
Footpath replacement - Davilak Street, Como
On Monday 3 August 2026, the City will begin footpath replacement works on Davilak Street, Como, as part of the City’s 2026/27 Slab Replacement Program.
Drainage works - Mends Street, South Perth
On Monday 10 August, the City will begin drainage maintenance works at seven locations along Mends Street, between Mill Point Road and South Perth Esplanade.

Footpath replacement works will soon commence on Monk Street in Kensington as part of the City’s 2026/27 Slab Replacement Program.
Exciting changes coming to Moresby Street
Work has begun on upgrading the Moresby Street precinct in Kensington to include more alfresco dining space, new bench seating and shade trees outside the Moresby Street shops and Hall.

On Monday 13 April 2026, footpath replacement works will begin on McDonald Street, South Perth, as part of the City’s 2025/26 Slab Replacement Program.
