Riverbank and drainage works - Redmond Reserve, Salter Point

News Update 12 October 2026
Roads and Footpaths

The City will soon begin riverbank stabilisation and drainage works at Redmond Reserve in Salter Point. The works will improve stormwater drainage, stabilise the riverbank and help protect the reserve from further erosion.

Construction will be staged and include earthworks, drainage installation, concrete works and the installation of precast elements, followed by site reinstatement.

Works will be carried out in accordance with an approved Construction and Environmental Management Plan and Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) permit requirements.

Location: Redmond Reserve, corner of Redmond Street and River Way, Salter Point (see map below).

Date: From the week beginning Monday, 19 October 2026

Duration: Approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Works will generally take place Monday to Friday, 7am - 5pm, although work may not occur every day during this period.

The work area will be secured with temporary fencing, pedestrian management measures and signage to help maintain public safety. Signs will also direct local residents around the work site.

The City will make every effort to minimise disruption during construction.

Updates will be available on the City's Parks and reserves works webpage.
