The City is committed to fostering connection, inclusion, and wellbeing in our community.
We partner with local charities and organisations to run a range of donation initiatives to help those in need. This includes seasonal and ongoing programs to support different communities, including those experiencing food insecurity and financial pressure.
You can make a difference in your community through a simple act of giving. Making a donation may not feel like a big gesture, but it can go a long way in supporting someone in need.

Foodbank WA Community Food Drive
1 - 30 August 2026
South Perth and Manning libraries
Add an extra item to your shopping basket or donate something from your pantry to help support West Australians experiencing food insecurity.
We're collecting in date, non-perishable food and essential items at our libraries for Foodbank WA. All donations will be provided directly to Foodbank WA for their distribution. Library members who donate an eligible item during the campaign will receive an amnesty on outstanding library fees.
What to donate
- Canned meals, fruit and vegetables
- Long-life milk
- Pasta sauces, spreads, and jams
- Cereal and oats
- Meal bases

Share the Dignity

George Burnett Leisure Centre (GBLC)
Menstruation isn't a choice, and period poverty is a silent and widespread crisis in Australia.
We're collecting period products for Share the Dignity at GBLC to support women and girls in need of help. Your donation helps those who menstruate and are experiencing or at risk of domestic violence, homelessness or poverty access products they need.
The donation bin is located at reception and all donations go directly to Share the Dignity for their distribution.
What to donate
Unopened period products in original packaging such as pads, tampons, reusable pads, period underwear, menstrual cups and incontinence products.
