Support for proposed Recreation and Aquatic Facility
Preliminary discussions with Federal and State Government, state sporting bodies and local clubs have been positive with stakeholders indicating their support for the proposed facility.

As part of Connect South, the City has commenced identifying potential laneway sites in Mends Street for murals to invigorate the streetscape.
Mends Street Jetty - Grass Trees saved
Five grass trees located near the Mends Street Jetty have been saved to ensure they are not damaged during the construction phase of the Connect South project.
Connect South set to transform Mends Street
Construction of the City of South Perth’s Connect South project will commence following Australia Day 2019, with the major project set to transform Mends Street to become the gateway to South Perth and a destination for the local community and visitors.
