River Walls Funding
The City will be able to commence high priority restorative work on the Swan River walls thanks to a $500,000 grant announced by Environment Minister Albert Jacob this morning. The work involves replacing badly deteriorated sections of the river wall either side of the Mends Street Jetty.
Plans to Repair River Walls
Media enquiry regarding repairs to river walls. The City of South Perth plans to complete maintenance repairs on the South Perth Foreshore river wall between the western beach and the Narrows Bridge (vicinity of Queens Street).
Swan River Walls Update
The City remains disappointed that the State Government has not fulfilled its election promise to partly fund the cost of replacing the Swan River walls either side of the Mends Street jetty.
Residents Have their Say about Foreshore Future
Almost 1000 surveys and comments were received from the public, including residents and visitors, during the recent community feedback period, My Foreshore Our Future, for the South Perth Foreshore.
Community input to identify foreshore priorities
Over 800 comments and suggestions received during the initial idea gathering stage of the South Perth Foreshore 2013 and Beyond project have been presented as opportunities in the draft strategy, which is out for community feedback until 12 August 2013.
