Celebrate local heroes and new citizens this Australia Day
Join us on Monday 26 January 2026 to celebrate local volunteers and our newest citizens at our Australia Day Morning Ceremony on the foreshore.
This community-focussed event kicks off at 8am at Sir James Mitchell Park and will feature the AUSPIRE Community Citizen of the Year Awards as well as the 107 people from 40 countries taking the pledge to become an Australian Citizen.
Following the ceremony, the Rotary Club of Como will host The Great Aussie Breakfast from 9.30am to 10.30am – with proceeds ($7 per person) going towards community projects.
The City will not be hosting an event in the evening and there will be limited facilities for large crowds. Those wishing to see fireworks are encouraged to head to Langley Park from 3pm for the City of Perth’s Hancock Prospecting Australia Day event.
The City of South Perth’s Australia Day Morning Ceremony and Great Aussie Breakfast is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council with a $15, 000 grant.
