Morning Citizenship Ceremony

8.00 - 9.30am

Residents are invited to attend our special Australia Day flag raising ceremony and traditional Welcome to Country, along with one of our most loved annual citizenship ceremonies.

Celebrate the everyday heroes in our community at our Auspire Community Citizen of the Year Awards. State and Federal government representatives will join the City’s Mayor Greg Milner and Councillors to recognise individuals and organisations who have made a difference in our community. In addition, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson will be in attendance and delivering an address.

Presented in partnership with Auspire – Australia Day Council WA and local councils, the awards honour those who go above and beyond in fields such as volunteering, social inclusion, sport, arts, health, environment and more.

Great Aussie Breakfast

9.30 - 10.30am

The Great Aussie Breakfast is set to sizzle after the Citizenship Ceremony with the Rotary Club of Como providing a BBQ breakfast for $7, with proceeds going back into the local community.

Parking

Parking will be available in the Coode Street carparks. Coode Street Boatshed Car Park – Car Park 14 will be closed to the general public until 12pm.

Accessibility

Accessible parking is available.

The 2026 Australia Day Morning Ceremony & Great Aussie Breakfast is supported by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.

Important information - No celebration zone in the afternoon/evening

Community members are reminded that there is no major fireworks event or celebration zone at South Perth Foreshore on Australia Day. The best spot to see the City of Perth’s fireworks and drone show is at Langley Park from 3pm.

For the best experience, the City of Perth encourages viewing the fireworks show from Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Square. If viewed from areas outside of Elizabeth Quay, the audience will be unable to hear the narrated soundtrack or have access to event facilities.
