Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the playground expansion on South Perth Foreshore near Hurlingham Road.

We received a range of comments both online via yoursay.southperth.wa.gov.au and at the onsite drop-in session. The City’s Inclusive Community Advisory Group also provided feedback and advice on the design.

All feedback will now be considered and the design will be finalised, with installation scheduled for winter 2022.

Background

In March 2021, the City replaced ageing play equipment at the playground. Following community feedback on the new equipment, specifically regarding the lack of universally accessible play equipment, Council endorsed the development of a design and cost estimate to install an all abilities accessible and inclusive playground at the site.

New play equipment will be installed to integrate with the existing playground to provide an inclusive and welcoming play space for children of all abilities to play and interact together.
