2023/24 Christmas-New Year Opening Hours and Rubbish/Recycling Collection

Opening hours for the City's Civic Centre and many other facilities will change during the Christmas-New Year period.    

On Friday 15 December 2023, the Civic Centre will close at 12pm.

The Civic Centre will also close early at 3pm on Friday 22 December and will remain closed until Tuesday 2 January 2024 when normal hours resume.

Rubbish and Recycling Collection

There will be no collection of general waste and recycling bins on Christmas Day and New Years Day. All collections will be delayed by a day. For example, if your collection usually takes place on a Monday, it will be collected, on a Tuesday. 

Recycling Centre

Our Recycling Centre will be open during the festive season, with the City's Waste Services team on hand 8am-2pm, from Thursday 28 December to Sunday 31 December 2023.

Normal hours will resume from Wednesday 3 January 2024.
