Spring into the school holidays
There's lots to see and do in the City during the October school holidays.

Our libraries' free program of events is suitable for all ages and includes a special Story Time at the recently completed Black Swan Habitat on South Perth Foreshore. The George Burnett Leisure Centre half-day indoor sports clinics will teach kids new skills in a fun and safe environment. Visit the events section of the website for more information and to book.

What to see
Old Mill
Delve into the history of South Perth with a visit to the Old Mill, one of Perth’s best known and most recognisable landmarks. Built in 1835 and operating until 1859, the mill produced 680kg of flour per day at its peak. Guided tours run four days a week. You can even hop on/hop off the RAC Intellibus. Participants must be over the age of seven to ride the Intellibus® due to seatbelt requirements. Book your spot on the RAC Intellibus.

Ferry Tram
A restored B class tram engine that once ran along Mends Street to Mary Street, Como has been restored and is open to the public next to Heritage House in Windsor Park, South Perth. Read more about the Ferry Tram.
An exciting exhibition recounting the history of trams in South Perth, along with an informative video, is on display in Heritage House next to the tram. For more information visit the South Perth Historical Society website.

Mindeerup
Mindeerup is the perfect spot to meet up with friends or simply enjoy stunning views of the Swan River and Perth city. After dark, a spectacular sound and light show comes to life. Conceived by Yondee Shane Hansen and Art + (Art Coordination), Karl Kep Ngoornd-iny (meaning Fire and Water Dreaming) is an innovative display that combines projection technologies and an evocative soundscape to share ancient stories and represent the cycles and rhythms of country from an Aboriginal perspective.

Kids craft activities at South Perth and Manning Library
Our libraries have a jam-packed program of events for children of all ages. All events are free however bookings are essential. Find out more.
Sports clinics at George Burnett Leisure Centre
Registrations for the July school holiday clinics are open at George Burnett Leisure Centre in Karawara. Run by qualified coaches, children will have the opportunity to practice their skills in a fun and safe environment. The half-day clinics include netball, soccer, basketball, art, AFL and volleyball. Book online.
Mini Golf
Collier Park Golf is home to a new mini golf course like no other in Western Australia. Designed as a miniature version of a world-class landscaped 18 hole course, whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced putter – with three flags per hole available, all abilities are catered for.
Bookings are not required to play Mini Golf and entry fees can be found here.

Visit Perth Zoo
Perth Zoo is a great attraction for families with toddlers and children. Children under 4 enter free and there are special rates for families and groups. A Zoo Friends membership is great value and means you can visit the Zoo as many times as you like for an entire year with many other great benefits. City of South Perth residents receive a 10% discount off membership.
There are always special events happening at the zoo, so check their website before your visit.
