Online Short Story Workshop for young writers
The entries for the South Perth Young Writers Awards have been extended to Monday 1 June. To assist those who want to make sure their submission is as compelling as possible, we have an incredible opportunity.
Fabulous local author Cristy Burne will be jumping online and sharing her tips and tricks for writing strong short stories.
Wednesday 13 May at 4.30pm
Cristy is an Australian science writer, children’s author and presenter and she's had seven books published in Australia and overseas, including:
- Zeroes and Ones (Notable Book, CBCA 2019; Shortlisted Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year 2019)
- Off the Track (Shortlisted Wilderness Society’s Environment Prize 2019)
- To the Lighthouse (Shortlisted WAYRBA 2019).
Cristy is also one of the City of South Perth Children's Literature Champions for 2020. Our champions are local authors and illustrators who are passionate about libraries, literature and the importance of reading. These champions are with us for the whole year and will be helping us to celebrate important weeks and events over 2020.
Cristy is a fantastic advocate for libraries and books and her hilarious, fun and engaging presentation style makes this an online event not to be missed!
