Register now for National Tree Day - Sunday 30 July

News Update 10 July 2023
Elderfield Wetlands

We're returning to Elderfield Wetlands for this year's National Tree Day and need your help to continue the restoration of this beautiful location.

The site has benefited greatly from the community's efforts over the past three years and the City of South Perth is keen to plant even more trees, shrubs and sedges in 2023.

National Tree Day is our City's largest tree planting event and a great opportunity for people of all ages to come together and enjoy some outdoor fun.

Join us on Sunday 30 July to help boost our natural areas, provide more habitat for wildlife and reclaim turf areas to reduce water use.

Community planting events help to meet objectives of the City's Urban Forest Strategy and Strategic Community Plan to enhance our environment, while achieving outcomes of the City's Clontarf-Waterford-Salter Point Foreshore Masterplan and Perth NRM grant.

This year, the City is aiming to plant 500 trees, 2,000 shrubs and up to 10,000 sedges.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Please bring a hat, water bottle, closed-in shoes and dress appropriately for the weather conditions

free sausage sizzle and light refreshments will be provided afterwards.

Supported by Planet Art and Toyota, National Tree Day is an annual event involving communities across Australia to engage more people in environmental activities.
