Recycling Bins on South Perth Foreshore

The City has installed 11 recycling bins along the South Perth Foreshore following a year-long trial in 2021.

The trial showed significant levels of contamination and, thanks to a WasteSorted grant from the WA Waste Authority, the bins have been updated with new signage, information stickers and special containers to collect plastic bottle tops, which need to be recycled separately.

By using the new recycling bins at Sir James Mitchell Park and Mindeerup, we can all help to divert more waste from landfill while enjoying our beautiful foreshore.

Our South Perth Foreshore recycling bins now have Container Exchange Points to help people separate aluminium cans and glass or plastic bottles as part of the Containers for Change WA program. Instead of throwing your empty 10 cent containers into the bin, simply drop them into a Container Exchange basket and save them from ending up in landfill. Just check for the 10 cent mark — if it’s got it, drop it.

Keep an eye out for the new bins or visit our Recycling page to find out more about the City's recycling programs.
