Join us for an evening of Timber; Don Briggs will talk about "Pioneers of the WA Timber Industry" and Manning Men’s Shed will display some of their woodwork.
About the Event:
Don will tell tales of how timber workers, like those in the photo, and tall trees contributed to growing the new Swan River colony.
From building ships and bridges, railway sleepers, furniture and for heating and cooking, West Australian timber has been a sought-after material. This precious resource is now protected and managed for generations to come.
About Manning Men's Shed:
The Manning Men’s Shed is a place for men in our community to come together and spend their time post-retirement in a social and productive environment. The Shed is equipped with tools and machinery used for a range of projects from furniture to decorative arts.
Come in and have a look at or visit their website to see some of the fantastic woodwork projects created by Manning Men’s Shed members.
This event is part of the City's WA Tree Festival celebration.
