The City has partnered with Ecoburbia to offer a series of free sustainability workshops to our community. Sustainability experts Shani Graham and Tim Darby will teach you practical tips that you can take home and use right away.

Do you long for the sort of community connection you had as a child? Are you interested in increasing resilience in your neighbourhood? This workshop is for you.

Sustainability is about more than power and waste reduction, water saving and gardening – it’s also about community. During this inspiring workshop Shani from Ecoburbia will discuss different ways to get involved in your community – from joining community groups to a more engaged and resilient street community. Case studies from Ecoburbia will include the small community of Hulbert Street and the larger “West Beacy Bunch”. We will also share some more sustainable ways of getting around in your community – we’ll even bring along an electric bike for you to try!

By the time you leave you will have some great tips for feeling more connected to your neighbours.

This program is part of the City's commitment to manage and promote sustainable water, waste, land and energy practices.
