A new exhibition titled Ex-Bo 2022 has opened at Box Gallery, Manning and will be on display to the community until 26 November 2022.

In April and May 2022, community members were invited to participate in two workshops and two drop-in sessions to craft small tree themed objects which could be transformed into larger art pieces in celebration of the 2022 WA Tree Festival.

The first artist workshop was facilitated by Em Vitetta, a local textile artist. Emma depicts current themes using age-old techniques, and complements them with watercolour ink, applique and illustration to create unique pieces. Participants learnt the basics by creating fabric leaves to be added to our community display and progressed to their own unique tree piece.

The second artist workshop was facilitated by Miriam Gardiner, an experienced Visual Artist and facilitator of art classes in weaving and sculpture. Participants learnt the basics by weaving a small item to be added to our community display and then progressed to their own unique sculpture.

Participants were then invited back to two drop-in sessions to create tree themed craft to be added to our community display using leaves, paint, yarn, sticks, crayon and paper.
