Learn to navigate the social media ban at our free workshop
The social media ban for Australians under the age of 16 is fast approaching, and we’re holding a free workshop at John McGrath Pavilion on 2 December to help you prepare for this new online landscape.
The informative one-hour session, which will run from 6-7pm, will help young people aged 10 to 15 and their caregivers understand and navigate the Australian Government’s world-first social media age restrictions.
Coming into effect from 10 December, the restrictions aim to protect young people from the pressures and risks associated with social media use.
Specialist Paris McNeil will guide participants through the transition, sharing practical tools and helpful strategies to foster healthy tech habits.
While a number of popular platforms, such as Snapchat, Facebook and TikTok will be off-limits, there are still plenty of fun and creative ways to enjoy screen time.
We are offering Nintendo Switch Superstars sessions and a Stop Motion Animation Workshop, both at Manning Library, along with access to an extensive digital library through online memberships.
