International Games Week

Library 28 October 2021

We are celebrating the simple joy of board games during International Games Week (7-13 November 2021).

Visit South Perth and Manning Library from noon to 7pm on Wednesday 10 November and enjoy a range of different board games set up throughout the space. Bring along your family and friends or find someone to play against on the afternoon. The activity is free and no bookings are required.

To help celebrate the week we have invited Michael Keady, counsellor and games enthusiast, to share the benefits of games at our Get the Facts series. Suitable for those curious about gaming including parents of young gamers and those looking to play for the first time.

International Games Week recognises the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games. Games require patience, strategic thinking and decision making. Playing board games stimulates the part of the brain responsible for memory formation and complex thought processes. Better still, they are fun.
