Join South Perth Library for a Read-a-thon to celebrate the national Australia Reads campaign next week, Thursday 12 November.

Australia Reads is an annual national event to encourage the community to pick up a book, relax, escape, learn and experience the wonderful world of books.

This year South Perth Library will be holding a read-a-thon throughout the day, featuring NAIDOC storytelling, local authors and young writers sharing their works, with spot prizes up for grabs.

We are encouraging library members, residents, local businesses and schools to get involved and take part in a day of events including:

  • 10am-12pm - Story time with Mayor Greg Milner and NAIDOC story time.
  • 12pm-3.30pm - community Read-a-thon; pass the book baton and help us read. throughout the day. Book a spot in the reading chair, time slots range from 10 mins to 1 hour.
