Public Art

Ever dreamed of having your artwork on display? A new South Perth Libraries initiative gives you the opportunity to be an exhibited artist, with free workshops running to help you develop artworks that will be shown in the Manning Community Centre Exhibition Boxes.

Ex-Bo at Manning gives participants the chance to create mini canvases, woven clutch purses, rope brooches or woven coasters across four specialised workshops running at Manning Library on Saturdays from 2-3.30pm, 16 November to 7 December 2019.

Sessions will be run by Perth creative Lisa Black, and you don’t need to be a professional or have any artistic experience at all to take part.

All workshops are free however bookings are essential as places are limited.

Saturday 16 Nov - Mini Canvases
In this workshop you will be guided through painting up to three small canvases.

Saturday 23 Nov  - Painted Woven Clutch Purse
In this workshop you will be guided through sewing and painting your own clutch purse.

Saturday 30 Nov - Rope Brooches
In this workshop you will be guided through wrapping rope and wire with thread to create a brooch.

Saturday 7 Dec - Woven Coasters

The artworks will be on display at the Manning Community Centre Exhibition Boxes through December 2019 and January 2020, and participants can take their pieces home once the exhibition has closed.
