Library members can borrow a maximum of 20 items at one time.
There are different borrowing amounts, loan periods and renewal options for eResources depending on the supplier.
Items can be borrowed for 21 days. There are variations on some item types, such as iPads and Local History items.
You can renew an item up to 5 times as long as there are no requests on it.
Each time you renew an item, it will renew for another 21 days.
Renewals can be made online, simply login into your membership via the library catalogue, or contact us for assistance.
There are after-hours return chutes at Manning at South Perth libraries. Simply position your library item near the chute to open and place your items inside.
Yes. If your items are more than 14 days overdue a fee of a $1.50 will be applied to each item.
To avoid overdue fees Items should be renewed or returned on the date due.
The self-check kiosks require your library card to borrow because they scan the barcode, so you will need your library card or virtual equivalent.
If you don't have your library card, you may reserve items to collect next time you attend the library with your card.
Yes, you can save your library card to your smartphone. We recommend downloading the free Spydus Mobile app.
If you need help, please ask a staff member.
If you cannot find an item you have borrowed, let library staff know as soon as possible if you are unable to locate the item. If the item cannot be found, you may be required to pay the replacement cost.
Both libraries have computers available with access the Internet. South Perth and Manning libraries have free WiFi.

We have temporarily suspended our battery collection and printer cartridge program at both libraries.
Residents can still drop unwanted batteries and toner/printer cartridges at the City's Recycling Centre where they can be handled appropriately.
Recycling of mobile phones and accessories will continue.
