Inspire your kids with Book Bingo fun

News Update 9 January 2026
Looking for ways to inspire kids to get excited about reading? Book Bingo, now available at South Perth and Manning libraries, turns reading into a game children will love, with prizes to match.

This year-round challenge is designed for primary school-aged children and uses a bingo-style card filled with open-ended reading prompts to encourage the exploration of different genres and authors. Children can choose books that suit their age, interests and reading level and with no time limit, they can read at their own pace and simply enjoy the journey.

Book Bingo encourages curiosity, builds strong reading habits and helps children discover new favourite books. Plus, it keeps motivation high with rewards along the way. For every five books read, children receive a lucky dip prize, and when they reach bingo, they’ll earn a bigger reward – and plenty of bragging rights.

How to get started

  • Visit our libraries and ask a team member for a Book Bingo card
  • Write your child’s details and start reading
  • Choose books from the library or digital catalogue (staff can help with recommendations)
  • Collect prizes as you go – and celebrate when bingo is complete!

Discover all that’s on offer by visiting our Libraries page.
