Council Resolution – Urban Greening Grants Program
At the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 23 July, City of South Perth Council resolved the Motion Recommendation 12.3 in relation to the Urban Greening Grants Program.
This Resolution applies to specific streets in Cygnia Cove, Waterford and Karawara.
Particular streets affected include Tringa Circuit, Crake Court, Egretta Drive, Corvus Pass, Cygnus Parade, Apus Loop, Anthus Corner, Dacelo Vista, Hirundo Place, Walanna Drive, Wonil Way, Barang Circuit, Lowan Loop, Waterford Avenue, Mullingar Close, Westland Place, Adare Court, Doneraile Court, Killaloe Place, Callan Close, Drogheda Way, Deerpark Gardens, Treacy Way, Omagh Grove, New Ross Lane, Kells Court, Clonmel Mews, Nenagh Grove, Hanover Place, Templemore Gardens.
As part of the resolution, Council instructed the CEO to continue with tree plantings under the Urban Greening Grants Program but with the following minor modifications:
- Subject to paragraph 2, no further trees be removed, including but not limited to, olive trees, but for trees identified as dead, dying, or diseased;
- If a property owner immediately adjoining the Council verge where new trees are planted provides a written complaint to the City within 14 days, the City relocate the tree to an alternate suitable location, with relocations to be capped at 10% of the program;
