Weed control treatment begins 8 August 2024

Contractors for the City will begin weed control treatment along roads, kerbs and road reserve footpaths from Thursday 8 August 2024.

The spraying program starts in Manning Ward and is expected to take two to four weeks, subject to weather conditions. The City will follow recommended guidelines to ensure the safety of the community and environment during the spraying program.

The following treatment methods will be used:

• For minor and distributor roads–application of Glyphosate Green 360.
• For shopping precincts–organic treatment using Pine Oil / Pelargonic Acid.
• For schools, hospitals, nursing homes and other select locations–steam control.
  

Treatment vehicles will be clearly identifiable, and all weed control operations are closely monitored by City Officers to ensure they conform to safety guidelines.
