The City of South Perth has approved funding of $350k to replace one of the Lake Douglas bridges in the 2024/2025 Annual Budget.

Both bridges were closed in November last year following an engineering assessment that found them to be structurally compromised and at risk of collapse.

The City’s annual budget is focused on fiscal responsibility – ensuring the continued delivery of essential services as well as the maintenance and renewal of City facilities and infrastructure.

The decision to replace the second bridge at Lake Douglas has yet to be made. Further updates will be shared on the City’s website.
