Broadleaf weed spraying on parks and reserves from 16 July

News Update 12 July 2024

In July, the City will be commencing its 2024 Broadleaf Spraying Program to control a range of broadleaf weeds within all active and passive reserves and sumps to ensure turfed areas in the City remain at a high level of presentation and amenity for the community.

Spraying will be undertaken in accordance with the manufacturers recommended rates by the City’s licenced spraying contractor.

Appropriate signage will be displayed on vehicles applying herbicide and in strategic locations while the work is being undertaken, with the weed control operations being monitored by City Officers in accordance with safety guidelines.

It is expected the spraying program will last for 4 weeks, however this may vary due to weather conditions. The program will commence Tuesday 16 July 2024 at Sir James Mitchell Park, followed by active reserves, passive reserves and sumps.

The City will make every effort to ensure the safety of the community and environment during the spraying program.
