Meet Daneka – local fashionista, busy mum, and festive stylist extraordinaire.

O’Briens Clothing has been a retail staple for the Manning community since 1955 and with three generations working in the store, it really is the definition of a family business. Daneka puts this success down to the team’s commitment to excellent customer service.

“We couldn’t have three generations still in business without loving what we do. Dressing our customers is our collective passion and we especially love dressing them for the festive season,” she explained.

When you step into O’Briens you are immediately struck by the sheer volume of choices, but as you start to make your way through the store, you soon realise how clever the selection is. From gowns to accessories to chic homewares, there really is something for everyone to be found in stock.

“We know our customers want to shop local and support small business, so it is important to us to be able to provide them with outfits for whatever the occasion, be it a family barbecue or a fancy night out. Everyone should know what it feels like to look their best,” Daneka told us.

Christmas starts early for the O’Briens team and stock buying begins in July each year. Plus, they begin recruiting for extra staff early to ensure that every customer receives a premium service experience, even during the busy festive period. For Daneka, come Christmas Day, a much-needed rest is in order. But as a mum with three kids at home, chance would be a fine thing.

“With three kids our Christmas morning usually starts around 4am and it is full of excitement. We start by opening presents and then head to the beach before catching up with friends and family in the afternoon,” Daneka said.

As for the must-have song on the Christmas playlist, Daneka says no Christmas mix is complete without Bing Crosby’s ‘White Chrismas’.
