Project Map
Road Works
The road works will primarily involve rehabilitating the existing road surface. The City will also be installing a speed hump at the entry of Goss Avenue, from Manning Road and a raised intersection plateau at the intersection of Goss Avenue and Pether Road to improve safety within the area. Additional civil works such as replacing sections of kerb and pram ramps and the installation of a new vehicle access path into George Burnett Park will also take place during the construction period.
Resurfacing works are scheduled to take place on two occasions during the works period. Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of some properties will be impacted during these resurfacing works.
Working Hours and traffic management
Construction works are scheduled between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, although it may be necessary to carry out some activities outside of these hours, including Saturdays.
Temporary road closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and construction personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while works are in progress, please speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site. During construction on-street parking within the works area will also be prohibited.
