Disruption of library services from 30 October to 13 November

Libraries
The City of South Perth library catalogue will have limited functionality from Monday 30 October to Monday 13 November 2023 as we migrate to a new Library Management System.

Library item due dates during this period will be extended until Monday 20 November 2023.

During this period, library items can be loaned and returned as normal, visitors and library members will still be able to access the library catalogue and search books online but will not be able to renew items online, reserve books or check their online account. 

Anyone wanting to join as a new member can do so in person at the City’s libraries or join online from 8 November.

The following programs and services will be suspended from Monday 30 October until Monday 13 November:

  • Be Connected 
  • Coderdojo  
  • ABC You and Me sessions 
  • Under 5’s programs – Time for Stories, Rhymes and Movement, All About Play  
  • Home Reader Delivery Services – all readers of this service will be provided with double quantities of reading material to ensure they have access to items during the closure period.

Information Sessions 

Our library team will provide one-to-one support on how to use the new catalogue at any time on Wednesday 8 November in our libraries or by phone. Drop-in sessions will take place the week beginning Monday 13 November and will focus on five topics:

Searching the catalogue and reserving items

11am-12pm, Monday 13 November 2023 - South Perth Library

2-3pm, Monday 13 November 2023 - Manning Library

My account: dashboard, personal details, loans, items available for pickup, history 

11am-12pm, Tuesday 14 November 2023 - South Perth Library

2-3pm, Tuesday 14 November 2023 - Manning Library

My account: recommendations, saved lists and saved searches 

11am-12pm, Wednesday 15 November 2023 - South Perth Library

2-3pm, Wednesday 15 November 2023 - Manning Library

Requests: suggest a purchase, inter-library loan and ask a librarian

11am-12pm, Thursday 16 November 2023 - South Perth Library

2-3pm, Thursday 16 November 2023 - Manning Library

Getting started: logging in for the first time
