Celebrating Children's Book Week

Join the City's libraries and fellow book lovers to celebrate Children's Book Week with a Community Parade on Saturday 12 August 2023 and a series of Time for Stories events from 22-24 August 2023.

Dressing up as your favourite book character is all part of the fun and encouraged, with door prizes on offer at the Community Parade from 10am-12pm at the Manning Library and Community Centre.

There will also be crafts, activities and plenty of storytelling!

During Children's Book Week (19-25 August), South Perth and Manning libraries will be hosting special Time for Stories sessions:

• 10.30-11.30am, Tuesday 22 August, South Perth Library
• 10.30-11.30am, Wednesday 23 August, Manning Library
• 10.30-11.30am, Thursday 24 August, South Perth Library

About Book Week

Each year since 1945, the Children's Book Council of Australia has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time, schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators.
