Thanks for joining our NAIDOC Week celebrations

A big thank you to everyone who turned out to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2023 (2-9 July) in the City of South Perth last week.

On Monday 3 July, the wet weather didn't dampen the week's opening event, with local elders, community members and invited guests attending the City's Flag Raising Ceremony, which featured a stirring Welcome to Country by Joe Collard and a bush-tucker inspired afternoon tea.

The event was followed by an Intergenerational Craft activity, where the young and young at heart enjoyed craft and painting using a variety of techniques, including Mayor Greg Milner and local Members of Parliament, Geoff Baker (State) and Zaneta Mascarenhas (Federal).

We also partnered with local Noongar community members to host a series of free events, including children's storytime sessions and guest presentations by Kerry Stack and Isobel Bevis.
