Three business owners or residents will receive fully paid scholarships, as part of a partnership between the City of South Perth and Curtin University to support local entrepreneurs.

Curtin Ignition is an intensive education program from 3-8 September 2023, specifically for aspiring entrepreneurs, academics and corporate innovators to trial and prepare business ideas for the commercial environment.

It's ideal for founders of early-stage business ventures and people with new ideas that have the potential to become high-growth, worldwide businesses.

Among the Ignition Alumni is South Perth resident and 2022 WA Women’s Hall of Fame inductee Amanda Healy.

Last year, she shared her journey from male dominated mining to the world of high-end Aboriginal fashion design as part of the City's NAIDOC Week celebrations.

The Kirrkin Managing Director encouraged applicants to "go for it" saying Ignition had helped her develop skills she didn’t know she needed.

Usually valued at over $4,000, three business owners or residents in the City of South Perth will be selected for the Curtin Ignition scholarships.

This opportunity is part of the City's Economic Development Plan to support local businesses and help local business ideas grow.
