Computer programming is one of the most sought-after job skills of the future, with a growing number of Australian jobs requiring coding skills. Many young people who have grown up around computers are confident using technology and are naturally curious about how it works.
CoderDojo is a worldwide initiative that helps young people between 7 and 17 learn to code. The aim of CoderDojo is to give every child the opportunity to learn code and to be creative with technology in a safe and social environment.
CoderDojo runs fortnightly at Manning Library during the school term, 3.45 to 5.15pm on Thursdays. Sessions are free and participants can work on their own projects at a pace that suits them. Coding languages include block-coding, python, html/CSS and javascript.
The term 2 program starts on Thursday 11 May 2023. Learn more and book by visiting our CoderDojo page.
