Maintenance work begins on Lake Douglas bridges

News Update 15 March 2023
Maintenance Works Parks and Reserve works South Perth Foreshore

Minor work will be carried out to maintain the two timber pedestrian bridges at Lake Douglas along the South Perth Foreshore.

The work will take about a week, starting on Thursday March 16, to tighten handrails and re-fix timber boards.

For safety reasons, the bridges may be closed temporarily and will be re-opened once the work is complete.

This maintenance work will continue the life of the bridges, which are much-loved by regular visitors to Sir James Mitchell Park. Additional works are expected to be carried out in the future to ensure the bridges remain functional and open to the public.

Updates on this and other infrastructure projects can be found on the City's Works and Projects page.
