Road Resurfacing Works - Lockhart St between Thelma St and Davilak St

Road Works

Project Update: Lockhart St works have been postponed until May 2023

In accordance with the 2022/23 Capital Works Program, the City is undertaking road rehabilitation works at Lockhart Street, between Thelma St and Davilak St, South Perth.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, asphalt works have been postponed and will now take place between 8–12 May 2023. The dates are still custom to change in the event of unsuitable weather or other issues outside of our control.

Working hours & traffic management

Working hours will be confined to 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres.

Vehicle movements in and out of some properties will be impacted during these resurfacing works. Temporary lane closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area.

Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site. Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works, our staff and contractors will make every effort to reduce any inconvenience.

Reticulation

The works will involve the removal and replacement of some lengths of roadside kerbing. Reticulation on an affected kerb lines may be temporarily cut, capped and relocated away from the kerb. A notice will be placed in residents’ letterboxes once reticulation has been reinstated. Please test your system within two weeks of the notice. If issues present, please notify the City as soon as possible. The City is responsible for all reinstatement works and will not accept responsibility or provide reimbursement for other repairs or reinstatements carried out by third parties.
