DFES grant helps City manage bushfire risk

Bushfires can pose a risk to all of us.

In the City of South Perth, we have bushfire risk areas in Como, Karawara, Kensington, Manning, Salter Point and Waterford.

Our Bushfire Risk Management Plan was developed in consultation with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and aims to effectively manage bushfire risk within the City to help protect people and assets.

As part of the City’s bushfire risk planning, information sessions were held with bushfire risk affected property owners in late 2022.

This year a $70,000 grant from the DFES Bushfire Risk Mitigation Activity Fund is being used to undertake prescribed annual bushfire treatments within the City.
