Works undertaken as part of the Manning Tennis Club's Stronger Communities Program Grant are now complete, providing all community members with access to the club's facilities.

The $10,000 grant secured by Manning Tennis Club, has enabled path upgrades and widening of the club's unisex/ambulant toilet door.

This project will ensure the club's growing Wheelchair Tennis Program will continue to make tennis more accessible.

Since February 2020, Head Coach Mike Gill from Tennis Academy Perth and Club Captain Dwayne Augustin have been successfully running wheelchair tennis at Manning Tennis Club.

Wheelchair tennis is continuing to thrive with the club building its vision for wheelchair tennis. The club's aim is to ensure “that anyone in Western Australia, who is interested in trying the sport, can easily do so at their local tennis club”

The Stronger Communities Program supports the Australian Government’s commitment to deliver social benefits in communities across Australia, with the latest round providing $22.65 million to fund small capital projects across the country.

If you would like to try wheelchair tennis or get involved by providing coaching support, please contact Dwayne Augustin via email or call 0422 793 941.
