Road Rehabilitation Works - Jackson Rd, Karawara
In accordance with the 2021/22 Capital Works Program, the City will be undertaking road rehabilitation work on Jackson Road between Walanna Drive and Kent Street, Karawara. Construction works are scheduled to commence on Saturday, 15 January 2022.
The works will take approximately 3 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Working hours
The majority of construction works are scheduled between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday. However, to avoid major disruptions to Transperth buses, a portion of the works on weekends. Weekend works are scheduled for Saturday 15 January and Saturday 5 February 2022.
Traffic management
Temporary lane closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. Jackson Road between Walanna Drive and Kent Street will be closed for weekend works. For the safety of road users and construction personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site.
Road Resurfacing
Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of properties may be impacted. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the asphalt works are in progress, we ask that you use the contact details provided on the letter you will be provided.
Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works and our staff will make every effort to reduce any inconvenience.

Road closure 20 February 2022
The laying of Asphalt (wearing course) at Jackson Road between Kent Street and Walanna Drive will commence on Sunday 20 February 2022 between 7am to 5pm.
This section of Jackson Road will be closed to through traffic to protect the safety of the road users and construction personnel. Detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. The City requests residents and visitors to follow temporary signage in place and take care when driving in the area.
