The City will be upgrading the South Perth Esplanade cycle path from the intersection of Queen Street and South Perth Esplanade to the intersection of Mill Point Close and Mill Point Road. The project is a priority action of the Joint Bike Plan that was developed collaboratively by the City and the Town of Victoria Park. The works will include the upgrade of the existing shared path and the installation of a new concrete footpath.

Construction work will commence the week of 25 October 2021 and is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete, weather permitting. Works will generally be confined to 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Access on the South Perth Esplanade shared path between Queen Street and Mill Point Road will be restricted for both pedestrians and cyclists for the duration of the works. Pedestrians are encouraged to use alternative routes whilst cyclists will be detoured onto the road from Harper Terrace and the South Perth intersection.

To ensure the safety of road users and personnel, traffic management will be in place. Please follow all directions from work site personnel and adhere to construction signage when navigating the area.
