2021 Elections

Local government elections will take place on Saturday 16 October 2021.

To be eligible to vote or to nominate as a candidate in these upcoming elections, you must be registered on the electoral roll as a resident or on the City of South Perth Non-Resident Owners and Occupiers Roll by Friday 27 August 2021.

Residents are eligible to vote if they are eligible to vote in state elections and are listed on the state electoral roll.

If you are a resident of the City you can check whether you are enrolled to vote by visiting the Western Australian Electoral Commission website.

To be included on the State Electoral Roll, fill out the Application for Inclusion on the State Electoral Roll form, and return it (no postage required) to:

Absent Owners may be eligible to vote in Council elections if you own property within the City of South Perth, you are eligible to vote in state elections and you are listed on the state electoral roll, but you are not a resident of the City.

To apply to enroll as an absent owner of property in the City, complete the Application for Inclusion on the Owners and Occupiers Roll form and return it to:

The Electoral Officer will consider your claim, decide whether you are eligible and inform you of your enrolment in writing.

Occupiers may be eligible to vote in Council elections if you are an occupier of property within the City of South Perth and are enrolled on the state electoral roll as a resident in another electoral district.

This applies to the occupiers of business premises within the City, with a maximum of two nominees per property.

In order to qualify as an occupier, you must have a continual right of occupation of the premises for at least the next three months.

To make an enrolment eligibility claim as a non residential occupier of property in the City, fill out the Application for Inclusion on the Owners and Occupiers Roll form and return it to:
