Parks and Reserve works Road Works Waterford Triangle

The City is upgrading Garvey Street Park in Waterford and constructing a new access laneway through the park between Garvey Street and Conlon Street.

The works will improve the amenity of the area and facilitate the implementation of Town Planning Scheme Amendment 59 and the Waterford Triangle Development Plan 2020. 

The City has secured funding for the majority of the works through Phase Two of the Federal Government’s Department of Infrastructure Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Works are scheduled to commence in early 2022, and will take approximately four months to complete, Works include:

  • New irrigation and grass
  • New laneway and footpath
  • Removal of existing play equipment
  • New play and exercise equipment
  • New furniture
  • New table tennis table
  • New bird water station

Approximately 11,800 native shrubs will be planted in winter to give them the best change to grow.
