Anzac Day service at South Perth Memorial Gardens

News Update 23 April 2021

Unfortunately due to COVID lockdown, the City's ANZAC Day service has been cancelled for 2021.

We encourage the community to commemorate at home by participating in the RSL Driveway Dawn service at 6am.

The City and South Perth Returned and Services League (sub-branch) will honour the men and women who have served our nation in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations with an Anzac Day service at South Perth Memorial Gardens. The community is invited to attend and lay floral tributes to honour friends and relatives.

The service will be held from 7am to 7.45am on Sunday 25 April 2021, with morning tea to follow. Church and Community Relations Representative, Rick Pekan, will lead the service and bugler Monique Rossi from Penrhos College will sound the Last Post.

Stories of local Anzac veterans form part of the City's fascinating Local History Collection. These recollections and the images that accompany them, tell of the spirit of the Anzacs – their endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour, and mateship. Their stories reveal the selflessness of everyday Western Australians who were called upon to serve their country in extraordinary circumstances.
