Lighting Installation Stage Two – Olives Reserve, South Perth

Public Notice 1 April 2021
Parks and Reserve works

As part of the 2020/21 Capital Works Program, new five metre tall lights will be installed at Olives Reserve along the footpath connecting the southern section of the reserve to the northern carpark. The installation of these lights will be undertaken in two separate stages.

  • Stage One: Identifying and inspecting existing pole locations and testing switchboard.
  • Stage Two: Delivering, installing and commissioning light poles.

The City’s contractor will commence Stage Two on 26 April 2021. Do note that this date is subject to the delivery of light poles not being impacted by current travel restrictions. It will take approximately 3-5 days to complete the works, weather and other conditions permitting. Works will be confined to 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, although in order to complete the works it may be necessary to carry out some activities outside of these hours.

The works will consist of delivery, installation and commissioning of new light poles along the footpath of Olives Reserve that connects the southern section of the reserve to the northern section of the car park.

For the safety of the public, temporary pedestrian traffic management will be implemented.  Please follow all signage and/or directions from worksite personnel.

The works are scheduled at night to avoid major disruption to high-volume daytime traffic on South Terrace and Labouchere Road. Works are scheduled between 6pm and 6am Monday to Friday and, if required, between 7pm and 6am over Saturday and Sunday nights. Some elements of the works will unavoidably be disruptive to residents and we request your understanding when this occurs.

The works will take approximately 4-5 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
